Whether you’re creating your first adventurer, preparing an expedition across Sylva, or looking for inspiration during an unexpected turn in your campaign, these resources are designed to make playing easier and more enjoyable.

Kingsmark emphasizes creative freedom, cinematic storytelling, and practical rules that support rather than interrupt the adventure. The resources below follow the same philosophy, providing character records, ready-made adventurers, reference materials, maps, and tools for improvisation and exploration. All resources on this page are free. Some are available through the complete online Player’s Handbook, while others are separate downloads or dedicated webpages. Resources marked 🚧 Under Construction are in development and will become available as they are completed.

📖 Characters & Character Creation

Every memorable adventure begins with interesting characters. Kingsmark provides detailed character records and ready-made adventurers, allowing Players to create their own protagonists or begin playing without spending their first session building characters. These materials are especially useful for newcomers learning the rules and Game Masters preparing introductory adventures.

📖 Complete Character Bible. The official Kingsmark Character Bible provides space for your character’s identity, 💪Attributes, 🌈Attribute PRISMs, ⚒Skills, equipment, weapons, armor, 🩸Physical Trauma, 🧠Mental Trauma, Backstory, and other essential information. Designed around the game’s distinctive visual language and mechanics, the Character Bible helps Players organize their characters and track their development throughout a campaign. You can learn how to prepare your character and complete the relevant records through Chapter 17 — ✍Character Creation.

🎭 Four Ready-Made Player Characters. Want to begin playing without creating a character from scratch? The Player’s Handbook includes four ready-made Player Characters prepared for immediate use. These characters are particularly useful for introducing newcomers to Kingsmark, demonstrating the game’s mechanics, and conducting practice encounters. They also provide examples of how character abilities, equipment, and personal backgrounds come together to create distinctive adventurers. All four characters are available in 📎 Appendix C — Characters.

🎲 Rules at the Table

Kingsmark’s rules were written to be precise, consistent, and easy to reference. Important concepts use recognizable emojis, carefully organized terminology, and visual distinctions that help Players and Game Masters find information quickly. These resources provide convenient access to frequently used mechanics without requiring anyone to repeatedly search through hundreds of pages.

🎬 Actions Reference. Kingsmark includes approximately 108 example Actions, providing extensive possibilities for combat, movement, defense, teamwork, and other activities during ▶️Action Scenes. The Actions Reference brings these options together in a convenient format, making it easier to consider alternatives to simply attacking an opponent. Players remain free to attempt reasonable actions beyond those explicitly listed, with the Game Master adjudicating their requirements according to the rules. The complete reference is available in 📎 Appendix A — Actions.

🚧 🎲 Core Rules & Combat Reference — Under Construction. This compact, printable reference will contain the most frequently consulted procedures in ⭐Jack’s Cinematic d12 (JCd12), including Tests, Target Numbers, Advantage and Disadvantage, Action Points, combat, 💥Damage, 🛡Armor, Hit Locations, and Trauma. The objective is to provide a convenient reference that can remain beside a character sheet or behind the Game Master’s screen while the complete rules remain accessible online. Until this resource is completed, the primary procedures can be found in Chapter 11 — ▶️Action Scenes and Chapter 13 — 💥Damage & Defense.

🍺 Game Master Tools & Oracles

A great Game Master prepares interesting situations, but even the most experienced storyteller cannot anticipate every decision an adventuring party might make. Sometimes Players abandon the expected path, investigate an insignificant detail, question a stranger who had no planned importance, or venture into territory the Game Master hasn’t fully developed. Kingsmark embraces these possibilities by offering tools intended to encourage improvisation, generate inspiration, and help Game Masters develop convincing situations without bringing the adventure to a halt.

🚧 🎞️ Lost Film Cells — Game Master Oracle — Under Construction. Inspired by the visual language of cinema and the idea that every adventure is an unfolding production, the Lost Film Cells Oracle uses a collection of evocative images to stimulate the Game Master’s imagination. A single image might suggest a mysterious location, an unexpected complication, a dramatic encounter, or an entirely new direction for the adventure. Rather than generating a predetermined story, the Oracle provides inspiration that can be interpreted according to the fictional circumstances already established.

🚧 🎲 Yes / No Probability Oracle — Under Construction. Sometimes a Game Master needs to answer a question that hasn’t been decided in advance. Is the abandoned farmhouse occupied? Does the merchant recognize the stranger? Has the missing traveler already passed through the village? The Yes / No Probability Oracle will provide a method of resolving uncertain questions according to their likelihood, allowing probability to introduce unexpected developments into the adventure. It will be especially useful during improvisational Game Mastering and sandbox exploration.

🚧 ❓ Open-Ended Questions Oracle — Under Construction. Not every question can be answered with yes or no. What does the traveler want? Why has the village been abandoned? What strange discovery awaits the adventurers inside an ancient ruin? The Open-Ended Questions Oracle will provide prompts that the Game Master interprets according to the circumstances, generating ideas without dictating what must happen next. Together, the two question Oracles will provide complementary methods for handling uncertainty and improvisation.

🚧 🎭 Adventurer Generator — Under Construction. Also featured in 🍺The Tavern, the Adventurer Generator will provide a convenient method for developing adventurers who can populate Sylva. Game Masters can use it when preparing encounters, introducing potential companions, developing recurring characters, or responding when Players unexpectedly take an interest in someone who wasn’t originally important to the adventure. A randomly encountered adventurer might become a useful ally, a dangerous rival, a potential employer, or an important figure whose involvement changes the direction of a campaign.

🚧 🧭 Journey Worksheet — Under Construction. Sylva contains seven continents and more than one hundred nations, allowing adventuring parties to undertake journeys spanning hundreds or even thousands of miles. The Journey Worksheet will accompany the exploration system presented in 🍺The Tavern, providing a practical way to record important expedition details, discoveries, and progress through the world. Whether an adventuring party is crossing a wilderness region, following a dangerous trade route, or embarking upon an expedition to another continent, the worksheet will help preserve the continuity of the journey.

🗺️ Adventures & Maps

Kingsmark is designed for adventure, and its setting provides opportunities for dungeon exploration, wilderness expeditions, monster hunting, political intrigue, and countless other forms of heroic fantasy. These resources are intended to help Game Masters prepare interesting environments and give Players something tangible to explore. Some materials are already included in the Player’s Handbook, while additional maps and geographical references are being developed.

📎 Introductory Dungeon. The Player’s Handbook includes a playable Dungeon that provides an opportunity to experience Kingsmark through an actual adventure. Game Masters can use it to introduce Players to exploration, decision-making, danger, and the game’s core mechanics. Together with the four ready-made Player Characters, it provides a practical starting point for groups learning the system. The complete introductory adventure is available in 📎 Appendix D — Dungeon, while the characters can be found in 📎 Appendix C — Characters.

🚧 🗺️ Dungeon Maps — Under Construction. Printable and virtual tabletop maps will support dungeon exploration and combat encounters. Where appropriate, maps will be provided in versions suited to physical tabletop play and online platforms such as Roll20. Separate Player and Game Master versions may be included when a location contains information that should remain concealed until discovered during play. These resources will supplement the introductory Dungeon and future adventure material.

🚧 🌍 World Map of Sylva — Under Construction. Sylva’s seven continents, numerous nations, and extensive wilderness regions provide the foundation for extraordinary journeys. The world map will serve as a geographical reference for Players and Game Masters, helping them explore the setting, understand relationships between regions, and plan adventures across increasingly distant territories. As 🧭The World Book develops, additional geographical information and regional material will become available through the website.

The entire 👑Kingsmark Player’s Handbook is available to read online, so there is no need to create separate downloadable documents for information already presented clearly in the rulebook. The following resources provide convenient access to particularly useful chapters and appendices, allowing Players and Game Masters to consult the information they need without interrupting their adventures.

📖 Complete Online Player’s Handbook. The First Edition Player’s Handbook contains seventeen chapters and five appendices covering Kingsmark’s mechanics, character options, equipment, magic, example Actions, and additional reference material. ✍ Character Creation — Chapter 17. Creating an original Kingsmark adventurer involves six steps, from establishing your character’s basic identity and abilities to preparing the 📖Character Bible for play. The process brings together your Human Type, Character Class, Attributes, Skills, equipment, and personal background. Everything needed to follow these procedures is explained in Chapter 17 — ✍Character Creation.

🧌 Bestiary — Appendix B. The Player’s Handbook includes creatures and adversaries that Game Masters can use to introduce danger into their adventures. These entries provide examples of the monsters and other inhabitants of Sylva, helping Game Masters prepare encounters and develop situations involving dangerous creatures. The available reference material can be found in 📎 Appendix B — Bestiary, while the separate 🧌Bestiary companion book will substantially expand the collection.

⚔️ Equipment — Appendix E. Weapons, armor, and adventuring equipment play important roles in Kingsmark, influencing how characters prepare for danger and approach challenging situations. The Player’s Handbook provides the material necessary to equip characters and begin playing, including the reference information presented in 📎 Appendix E — Equipment. The companion volume ⚖️The Marketplace will expand these resources with a more extensive selection of weapons, armor, goods, services, and commerce.

🚧 📝 Official Errata & Rules Clarifications — Under Construction. As Kingsmark continues to develop through actual play, official corrections and clarifications will be collected in one convenient location. This resource will help Players and Game Masters distinguish established rules from later corrections and maintain consistency across the First Edition. Until the official reference becomes available, the published chapters of the Player’s Handbook remain the primary source for the game’s rules.
